5 Reasons Why The Wii U Should Be The Console You Get For Christmas
All over the wonderful internet, everyone is giving praise to the XBOX One and the PlayStation 4 for being awesome and other things, I guess. But what I have seen more of as well is good news for the Wii U. People saying you should get a Wii U for Christmas, and I would like to back them up. Here are fives reasons to get the Wii U over its competitors this Christmas.
1. Wii U is HD enough
Although the XBOX One and PS4 both are extremely pretty and they have lots of hardware specs to back them up, the difference really isn't that big of a change. Sure, they are minimally better, but you can still get a gorgeous HD experience on the Wii U
2. Play Online for Free
Both the XBOX One and the PS4 now have players paying around 5 dollars a month to play online with friends. With the Wii U, the cost per month to play online is much less: 0 dollars per month. And, including the extra 100 or 200 dollars already saved from getting the Wii U over its more expensive competitors, you can save 60 dollars a year.
3. Third Party Support is Getting Better for Wii U
Right now, Wii U can supply all of your blockbuster third-party titles (with the exception of Battlefield 4) and the future holds more third party titles playable on all of the consoles, such as Watch Dogs.
4. Wii U Has Better Games Right Now
As of now, right before the Christmas season, the Wii U has the best games out of any of the consoles. The XBOX One's biggest hit that the other consoles don't have is perhaps Forza 5, and the PS4's biggest success thus far exclusively is Killzone: Shadow Fall. The Wii U has Pikmin 3, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and, the most recent hit and best scoring game on Metacritic for next-gen consoles, Super Mario 3D World.
5. Wii U Has a Better Line-Up In The Future
Besides having the better games now, the Wii U has better games in the future. Mario Kart 8 is rolling in, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is swinging in, and who could forget the new Smash Bros. coming in for Wii U? Besides those set games are a massive Legend of Zelda project and a possible Metroid release.

Mario Party: Island Tour REVIEW
Call me a terrible person for getting this before Super Mario 3D World and Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, but I there is a perfectly acceptable reason for this. I debate. I needed something to do in between rounds. My friend likes Mario Party. I told him I'd party with him. And there I was at GameStop asking for Mario Party when the employees were like "you know we have the new Mario and Legend of Zelda in-store too..." and I had to say "I'LL BE BACK FOR THEM." So anyways, without further ado:
MARIO PARTY: ISLAND TOUR

Despite the weird looks given to me by the GameStop employees, I still purchased Mario Party and played it for 50 hours of playtime before reverting to Pokemon X to catch 'em all. But, throughout that time, this is what I thought:
Mario Party Island Tour promised to ruin your friendships in brand new ways, and the game definitely lives up to that claim. The competitive multiplayer parties are just as fun as ever, and you would think with 81 brand new minigames, you would never get bored, but I quickly got bored with it. Singleplayer seemed promising, but I was nearly immediately bored with the stale CPUs and the game boards aren't quite as interesting as they were in Mario Party DS, some have as little as under 20 spaces.
Multiplayer is a different story, that friend whom I got this game for us to play and I had a great time for a full 6 hours the day after I bought it, and after that I had a few more parties with my siblings, but after that, I never played it again... so far.
Overall, if you have friends or family who have 3DSes but don't have Pokemon X or Pokemon Y (what is wrong with you?) this game is the perfect multiplayer to play with all of your friends/family. If you do own Pokemon X or Pokemon Y, keep playing it. It's not worth leaving.

Favorite Game of All Time?
I told you I'd be back, and now I am, to unveil my favorite game of all time. Yesterday, I narrowed it down to just four: Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (hereby known as Paper Mario), and Halo 3. After deeply contemplating today during school, I have decided my outcome.
I'll start with Halo 3. It is a magnificent game. It has a memorable cast of characters and playing as either the Master Chief or the Arbiter is always fun, but eventually, once you clear the campaign, you have nothing but online to do anymore; and, let's be honest, Halo 3's online experience is not quite as refined as Halo 4's, therefore, Halo 3 is not my favorite game of all time.
Next came the showdown of the three Nintendo Gamecube games. The first to be eliminated was Luigi's Mansion. I love Luigi, and this also happens to be the Year of Luigi, and he game Luigi's Mansion is hella fun, but, what it came down to was the replayability issues. The game is really exciting and full of good moments, but there are no individualized levels, just one big 'ol story and then it is over. Want to replay a level? Play the game over again up to that point. A minor flaw, but these are high stakes, and that little slip-up will cost this game my "Favorite Game of All Time" spot.
So now I'm down to two choices: Paper Mario and Super Mario Sunshine. Both games are ridiculously fun and offer unique experiences that I had never experienced prior to playing them, both had an excellent cast of characters, (especially Paper Mario) and both had a marvelous visual experience, so what it came down to was originality. Nintendo is known for making original, unique experiences in their games, and this was especially true in Super Mario Sunshine.
Super Mario Sunshine was a risk. A risk that Nintendo was willing to take, and it paid off. Whoever had the bright idea to give Mario a water-shooting, talking backpack was a genius. Although Paper Mario was only the second installment in its series, and it significantly improved every single issue with the original Paper Mario, Super Mario Sunshine was its own thing. Its own idea. Its own series. The storyline is an intriguing one, and the challenge it presents is one of, if not the best in any Mario game to-date. Thus, claiming my spot at my favorite game of all time. (I am also one of those people praying for a Sunshine 2 on Wii U)

Favorite Game of All Time?
Since I haven't been posting much, I think I'll fill you guys in on what my favorite game of all time is. That is that I have played. Well, that was what I was going to do, and then I realized that I don't know my favorite game of all time. So, I though hard today about what my top 4 would be and I have them all. Happy Birthday to Wii U!
I apologize for not posting in a VERY LONG TIME, but Pokemon came out, and then I played it a lot (up to 200 hours since launch) and then kept playing it, and then I got caught up in the Oregon Ducks football season, and then I'M BACK. Glad to be back. I would just like to give Nintendo's next-gen console: the Wii U a happy birthday today. Throughout its one year of existence, it has met more then lukewarm reception, however, with the upcoming games such as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8, and a massive Legend of Zelda project, I'm sure people will be flocking to Team Wii U in no time.
